Two Years @ Tech Mahindra

Getting ready on the first day

I still remember the day i stood outside the gate of an MNC with a file in my hand. It was very uneasy for me in that unusual attire wearing formals with a tie that made me felt like someone holding my throat. July 27th 2012, a memorable day in my life. Its my first day at office. Emotionally it's like being the new kid in school. You don't know anybody, you don't know your way around but still hoping to find someone that you know.It was a tough day signing pile of documents, followed by certificates verification and those long boring speeches. Lunch was OK :)

Mission ELTP

Wondering what ELTP means?? That's Entry level trainee program, a 3 month tough course to groom the academic students into professionals. Exams, presentations, discipline were all a part of  the curriculum and used to keep us busy whole day. Thank god they left us on Sunday's. Keeping the learning part aside it was very fun spending time with people from different parts of the country. I made some good friends during this course and we used to work as teams for every task including exams. Now I came to know pretty well why people often say training period is the honeymoon period <3 <3.

Business wait (Most familiar as bench)

'On Bench' is what your 'status' is when you haven't been allotted any project in your company. It is the time to have fun, learn and most importantly you get paid for that fun of yours. Like all major IT companies in India our organization has also got some good bench strength which has kept us waiting for almost 3 months to get into my first project. Reaching office on time, refreshing the trained concepts (not every day though),followed by long lunch and finally getting into the ground & playing cricket. This used to be our daily routine for those 3 months.
Office seemed to me like an extension to college.

Finally into project

Finally i got into my first project after 6 months of joining where i have to start working to what i'm actually paid for. I felt little lucky getting a project at Hyderabad as most of my friends from my training batch got scattered all over India. Life got little tougher while amalgamating my self to this new work environment.Night shifts, weekend shifts, meetings , calls, deliverable's made my life so miserable. This is common for all IT people but i'm little over stressed just because i'm new to this. As the time passed  things got better especially no more night/ weekend shifts. One good thing about this IT field is it gives us a chance to meet a lot of people. I have made so many good friends in these last two years.

Upshot

Being my first company, Mahindra Satyam will always have a special place in my heart. I still sometimes miss MSTC, the place where i was trained. I don't think anything in Satyam can get better than MSTC. It boasts a outdoor theater, tennis court, swimming pool, gym, synthetic basketball court, snooker tables and a small zoo. I fell in love with STC for its greenery and the sports facilities they provide. Mahindra Satyam has given me a platform to grow. I have got a long way ahead and hope everything goes smooth. I'll cherish every moment of mine at this place.

Friends Forever!!!!

Till yesterday all i was doing was freaking out with friends. It all started when i was on board to msat at mid of 2012 . After an intensive training session for about three months we are finally released for getting into projects. Thanks to this economic slowdown which in fact had a negative impact on Indian IT market. So we were put on business wait (or bench) since then.I will never forget this time i spend with you friends and how it made me glad, just remember you’ll always be the bestest friends I’ve ever had.

Sharing good times with good friends is the greatest joy. This is the stuff that makes life worthwhile. Whether sharing a meal together or a good conversation, there is nothing more fulfilling then spending time with friends. We must be thankful for the friendships that come our way for not all are blessed with the skills to form deep relationships. Those of us that do have friends must never take for granted the gift bestowed upon us.

I have never been to an orphanage before in my life. But today after spending a day with them along with my colleagues i feel rejoiced. This orphanage is called bless foundation with around 30 kids, aged between 2 and 12. We had a different fun activities like singing, dancing, painting etc for the children and the they enticed us with their artistic talent. I feel honored to share their joy with me and I'm looking forward to visit some more orphanages.

New year. New spirit. New adventure. @2012.

Life is all about adventures, surprises, ups, downs etc etc.......I hate the profession of being a teacher in the school or a college because i know how people in the class behave with and abuse the teacher. As a recent graduate and also 16 long years of educational experience as a student i saw only a few teachers who are inspiring and makes us feel interesting to learn. Many of them are boring whose primary goal is to only end up with completing  the syllabus and i also got few teachers who are morons.
But unfortunately or fortunately I'm into this profession now and I'm taking classes from tomorrow !!! I never thought I'll will be doing this job but this is  life  and its all about twists and turns.I got few more months to get the date of joining from the mnc to which i had been selected so i decided to join as an IT-associate at JKC which a organization that helps passing out graduates to polish there interview skills and in that respect I'm gonna help them. One more twist in this story is that i got to stay away from my home which i have never done in my entire life up to now.I hope that god will help me to settle without any hurdles.
                Thats all for now :)
